If there is already a photo on display, feel free to submit another one. We would like several photos for each entry, for example birds can be in flight or perching, male or female, juveniles etc and we welcome multiple submissions for a single species.
We will judge photos based on how clearly the species are portrayed and their uniqueness.
If you are unsure of the species in your photo, we recommend the use of identification apps, such as PictureThis, Merlin BirdID and Seek. Or just submit a photo and we will take a look.
Our list is not exhaustive and we welcome submissions for species which do not appear on it.
By submitting a photo, you give us permission to use it on our site.
If we approve your photo, it will go on the site alongside its relevant species description. If you want, we will also give you an attribution.
